Day of the Dead | Cookie Packaging

The Challenge: Create a series of bags to be placed in an impulse buy section of a store during Halloween. These will not be branded as they will be a lower price point than the brand wants to be associated with.

The Brainstorm: Use nostalgic references of traditional Halloween monsters for a quick and amusing connection with the shopper.

In the research for the mood board there were several things that seemed at the utmost necessary to create a true festive design. The obvious was the sugar skulls, the least obvious was the beautiful decorative use of tissue cut outs. The roses and the tone of playing music were also needed for the high energy of the day. Also the oversize heads which is used in the folk art was too fun to pass up.
